The days are longer, the weather is getting warmer, and that can only mean one thing: it’s springtime! There’s extra daylight to enjoy, which means you have more time to make the most of your day! From getting more organized, to doing more for yourself and the people you love, this season marks an opportunity for a fresh start, and we’ve got some tips to add a bit more spring to your step!

Get Organized

I don’t know about you, but I tend to get much more inspired and productive when I wake up early, and the weather is nice. With brighter days comes a brighter mood, which results in the motivation to get things done! Here are some tips that I’ve found help me get more organized during the week:

  1. Plan Ahead
Sunday is a “prep day” for the rest of the week, especially when it comes to meal prep. To help you with this, we made this great Meal Prep Worksheet so you can plan your meals for the week too! We also have a bunch of delicious recipes to help you get inspired.
  1. Write It Out
I’ve found that writing things out helps me put those things into action, whether it’s a grocery list, to-do list, schedule, etc. Having action items written out helps me remember them, and it’s satisfying to cross those items off as you go. If you don’t like writing things out by hand, there’s software on your computers and phones so you can go digital.
  1. Split It Up
It can be so tempting to push things off until the last minute, especially when there are so many distractions out there (hello, Netflix!). To help combat this, split less fun tasks (i.e. cleaning) up throughout the week so that it’s seems like less of a chore.  If you do a little each day, and keep that up throughout the week, it will be easier to maintain overall.

Do More for Yourself & Your Loved Ones

What better way to take advantage of the longer days, than by sharing experiences with your friends and family? More daylight equals more opportunities to spend time with loved ones. Spending a day at a park with a friend, or baking cookies with your siblings is a good way to de-stress and have some fun.

One of my favorite things to do is surprise my friends with special treats (usually food) to brighten their day. I LOVE giving gifts and making people smile. With the extra time, whip up a shareable treat (like these Sweet & Salty Cookies!) and bring some to your coworkers.

And doing more for others doesn’t have to mean doing less for you! Treat yourself to a me-date at a local museum, an extra chocolate-y treat, or a night in with a blanket and your favorite TV show.

Here’s to extra daylight, and the upcoming springtime! How are you celebrating? Sound off in the comments below!

Kathleen
