Enjoy Life Foods is a rapidly growing manufacturer of gluten-free and allergy-friendly baked food products. Due to rapid growth, we are seeking a full-time Junior Buyer/Scheduler to join our team!
This individual works under the Purchasing Manager and is responsible for overall replenishment of ingredient and packaging materials while maintaining proper inventory levels by performing the following tasks:
- Manage inventory levels of ingredient and packaging materials to where production is met with limited additional stock
- Arrange any necessary transportation with approved carriers for shipments
- Follow up with receiving and vendors on any PO’s that did not arrive on time and communicate any delays to operations team
- Communicate and resolve any ingredient or packaging material issues, shortages, damage, etc.
- Verify vendor order confirmations match quantity, price and deliver date against purchase order
- Manage purchasing off contracts including volume and price, are being logged and that remaining quantities match vendors open amounts, communicating any differences to Purchasing Manager
- Manage vendors by setting expectations, communicating requirements, and building relationships
- Source alternate suppliers for ingredients or packaging as needed
- Work with the Production Scheduler, and become possible backup if needed
A successful candidate will have:
- Bachelor Degree in Business or Food Science preferred
- Experience in a food manufacturing environment is preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both spoken and written
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Microsoft Office skills
