Living Nut Free
Peanut allergies have gotten plenty of attention in the last ten years as their prevalence has risen. Airlines have started to avoid serving nuts on planes, schools have nut-free zones, and some people with nut allergies have taken to wearing bracelets to alert others. Not all nut allergies result in anaphylaxis, but there are plenty of people who, like you, are trying to avoid the discomfort that comes with consuming nuts. We’ve created all of our products to be nut free so that you can eat freely and snack without worry.
What Do I Do Now?
Following a Nut-Free Diet
It can be challenging to cut out all nuts from your diet, especially once you realize how many processed foods can contain nut oils. Read packaging carefully, but also know that there are many nut-free options out there for you to enjoy! We’ve compiled recipes, food options, and resources to help you along the way. Did you know that peanuts are classified as legumes? A peanut allergy is different from a tree nut allergy. Here is a list of some of the most common tree nuts for your reference:
Common tree nuts include:
- Brazil Nut
- Beech Nut
Coconuts are typically safe for people with tree nut allergies because they are a seed and not, in fact a nut, but the FDA classifies them as a tree nut, and our products do not contain coconut ingredients.
You should also be careful as tree nuts or their derivatives can be found in many baking products, artificial and natural flavorings, pest, nougat, and mortadella – a salami with pistachios in it.
